Family Group Sheets

These are Family Group Sheets (FGS) - single documents that tell the basic details of a single family, parents and children with a mention of children's spouses.

The FGS for James and Rhoda is first followed by each of their eleven children in order:

These were mainly Lincoln, Nebraska folks.

This branch of the family wandered off to Idaho.

Another wandering branch of the family - to Georgia.

Bonus information: Roy Oakley (LeRoy James Oakley here) was the nephew of David and Oliver Cassell, husbands of Maggie and Martha Rowlison. Note that Roy's mother was Elizabeth Cassell, oldest child of James and Isabella (Maxwell) Cassell immigrants from near Kennoway, Fife County, Scotland initially to Whiteside County, Illinois near Morrison then to farms near Edgar, Nebraska.

Roy Oakley served as Clay County Clerk for over thirty years (1922-1955ish). I've been told he is still the longest serving county official in Nebraska history though I've not confirmed that.
